第七届浙江大学“国际前沿传播理论与研究方法”高级研修班

招生启事

 

为推进中国大陆新闻传播研究的进步,扩展中国大陆青年学者的国际视野,提升其研究能力,浙江大学传媒与国际文化学院、浙江大学新闻传媒与社会发展研究所于2004年起已经先后主办了六届“国际前沿传播理论与研究方法”高级研修班。2015年第七届研修班主题为“新媒体与公共参与”,由浙江大学、威斯康星大学和宾夕法尼亚大学联合主办。本届研修班仍然不收任何培训费用,但交通、食宿以及资料费用自理。现将具体情况通知如下:

 

一、时间地点:

2015年6月7-12日

浙江大学紫金港校区启真酒店

 

二、报名条件:

1. 2015年高级研修班的主要对象仍然是华人青年传播学者(博士生、博后和青年教师),年龄一般不超过45岁。

2. 提交一篇自己撰写的与研修班主题相关的论文(未公开发表)。

3. 组委会将从提交论文中遴选30位学员。每位学员将登台宣读自己的论文,参与互动点评与交流,在专家指导下进行修改。

4. 提交论文可用中文或英文撰写,论文格式请参见APA格式。

四、主讲嘉宾:

 

Michael X. Delli Carpini宾夕法尼亚大学安纳伯格传播学院院长,教授。Prior to joining the University of Pennsylvania faculty in July of 2003, Dean Delli Carpini was Director of the Public Policy program of the Pew Charitable Trusts (1999-2003), and member of the Political Science Department at Barnard College and graduate faculty of Columbia University (1987-2002), serving as chair of the Barnard department from 1995 to 1999. His research explores the role of the citizen in American politics, with particular emphasis on the impact of the mass media on public opinion, political knowledge, and political participation. He is the author of many books and numerous articles. His books include After Broadcast News: Media Regimes, Democracy, and the New Information Environment. (with Bruce Williams. New York, Cambridge University Press, 2011), Talking Together: Public Deliberation and Political Participation in America (with Lawrence Jacobs and Fay Lomax Cook. Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2009), A New Engagement? Political Participation, Civic Life and the Changing American Citizen (with Scott Keeter, Cliff Zukin, Molly Andolina and Krista Jenkins. New York: Oxford University Press, 2006), and What Americans Know About Politics and Why It Matters (with Scott Keeter, New Haven: Yale University Press, 1996).

 

潘忠党:威斯康星大学传播艺术系教授。Zhongdang Pan’s research is on news media and its effects in political process and has published his works on issues such as priming, news framing, and the third-person effects.  A significant area of focus has been on China’s media changes and their relationships with democratic changes.  He has conducted research on journalists and news production in China, media.  More recently, he has focused his research on communication in public life, considering in particular various conceptions of mediation, communicative ethics, and significance of utilizing urban public spaces.  He teaches courses in mass media and human behavior, public deliberation, communication theory and theory construction, and research methods. 

 

Dhavan V. Shah:  威斯康星大学新闻与大众传播学院教授。Dhavan V. Shah is Maier-Bascom Professor at the UW-Madison, Director of the Mass Communication Research Center (MCRC) and Scientific Director in the Center for Health Enhancement System Studies (CHESS). Housed in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication with appointments in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Marketing, and Political Science, his research focuses on communication influence on social judgments, civic and political engagement, and health support and behavior. He teaches courses on strategic communication, public opinion, research methods, political communication, media psychology, and information and communication technologies (ICTs).  He has published six co-athored or co-edited books and numerous refereed journal articles.  His research has been supported by Spencer Foundation, Ford Foundation, National Cancer Institute, and National Institute of Drug Abuse.

 

Michael Xenos:威斯康星大学传播艺术系主任、教授。His research and teaching interests are centered on the effects of new media on political engagement and public deliberation. His primary focus is on the extent to which the internet and social media may help individuals learn about political issues, form opinions, and participate in politics.  He is also interested in the ways that political candidates, journalists, and other political actors adapt to changes in information and communication technologies, and how these adaptations affect broader dynamics of political communication and public deliberation.  He is the Editor of Journal of Information Technology & Politics.

 

Marwan M. Kraidy:宾夕法尼亚大学安纳伯格传播学院教授。Marwan M. Kraidy is Professor of Communication and Director of the Project for Advanced Research in Global Communication (PARGC) at the Annenberg School for Communication. The recipient of fellowships from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation and the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Professor Kraidy has lectured worldwide and published more than 100 essays and six books, includingReality Television and Arab Politics (Cambridge UP, 2010), which won three major prizes; Arab Television Industries (MacMillan, 2010), Hybridity (Temple UP, 2005), andCommunication and Power in the Global Era (Routledge, 2010).

 

杨国斌:宾夕法尼亚大学安娜伯格传播学院及社会学系副教授。His research areas cover digital media, political communication, global communication, social movements, cultural sociology, and the sociology of China. Prof. Yang's books include The Power of the Internet in China: Citizen Activism Online (Columbia University Press, 2009), Violence, Dissent, Memory: China's Red Guard Generation, 1966-2016 (forthcoming, Columbia University Press), and Dragon-Carving and the Literary Mind (2 volumes. Library of Chinese Classics in English Translation, Beijing, 2003). He is the editor of China’s Contested Internet (forthcoming 2015),The Internet, Social Media, and a Changing China (with Jacques deLisle and Avery Goldstein, forthcoming), andRe-Envisioning the Chinese Revolution: The Politics and Poetics of Collective Memories in Reform China (with Ching-Kwan Lee, 2007),

 

Jenell Johnson:威斯康星大学传播艺术系助理教授。My research explores the rhetorical traffic between science, medicine, and public culture. I work equally in the rhetoric of science and the rhetoric of medicine, and my perspective is deeply inflected by the field of disability studies, which contributes social, ethical, and political implications to the questions I ask about the human body and mind. While most of my previous research has focused on neuroscience, psychiatry, and mental disability, these days I’m working on a few projects exploring the relationship between bioethics, biopolitics, and biocitizenship.  She is the author or editor of two books:American Lobotomy: A Rhetorical History (2014, Ann Arbor, MI: University of Michigan Press) and The Neuroscientific Turn: Trandisciplinarity in the Age of the Brain (2012, Ann Arbor: University of Michigan Press).

 

孔书玉:西蒙菲沙大学人文学院副教授。Professor Kong is Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities and Director of Asia-Canada Program at Simon Fraser University, Canada. Her research interests include Chinese literary and cultural studies, mass media and popular culture in contemporary China, Chinese diaspora and sinophone literature, and ethnic Chinese media in Canada. She is the author of Popular Media, Social Emotion and Public Discourse in Contemporary China(2014) and Consuming Literature: Best Sellers and the Commercialization of Literary Production in Contemporary China (2004). Before joining SFU, she taught at University of Alberta and University of Sydney.
