Communication and the Public

Communication and the Public is an international peer-reviewed journal that publishes both theoretical and empirical research articles in the intersections of communication and the public broadly defined. It welcomes research in these areas from and about any parts of the world, especially the parts of the world where the experiences have been under-considered in the extant social and cultural theories or in communication studies. It publishes quality works in both social scientific and humanistic traditions.

The regular features of the journal include research articles, theoretical essays, forum and symposium, and book reviews. To better reflect the multi-disciplinary thematic focus, the journal will publish frequent special issues. Proposals for special issues from any social scientific or humanistic disciplines are welcome.

China Media Report

Since its inception in 2002, China Media Report (CMR, ISSN 1682-3362) has been jointly published by the College of Media and International Culture at Zhejiang University and the Faculty of Humanities and Arts at the Macao University of Science and Technology. China Media Report is a Chinese-language, open-access, international journal devoted to sustaining scholarly dialogue between China and the world. Published quarterly, the journal has attracted reputable authors and gained loyal readership and is included in such indexes as Source Journal of Index Copernicus (IC) and Source Journal of Ulrich's Periodicals Directory (UPD). China Media Report is dedicated to making accessible cutting-edge research of Chinese communication scholars around the world, and disseminating updated knowledge of all aspects of Chinese media/communication research and related topics. The main purpose of the journal is to provide a platform for Chinese media/communication research, as well as to serve as a bridge between media/communication research done in China and in other parts of the global community, therewith to promote global harmony. The journal is broadly interdisciplinary and welcomes original research articles, literature reviews, investigative reports, opinions pieces, interviews, conference reviews, and book reviews.

Research on Marxist Aesthetics


Research on Marxist Aesthetics is the only specialized academic journal among the world. It was first founded in 1996 by Professor Liu Gangji, a famous aesthetician in the philosophy Department of Wuhan University. For now, the chief editor is Professor Wang Jie from Department of Media and International Culture in Zhejiang University.

This journal has become an important communication platform for Chinese and Western Marxist aesthetic research. The international Marxist aesthetics forum held by the editorial department has been held for five times, which shows the value and academic status.The standing columns of this journal include: Classical Marxist theory, foreign Marxism and aesthetics, Marxist aesthetic research in multi-dimensional perspective, Marxism and culture research, the history of Chinese Marxist aesthetic research, writing of international Marxist aesthetics forum, aesthetic anthropology, academic interview, book review, etc.
