Convergent Media Research Center delivered the 2020 Report on Smart Media Usage in China

HANGZHOU— The delivery of the 2020 Report on Smart Media Usage in Chinacoincided with the Academic Forum on Communication Innovation on June 29. The report by the Convergent Media Research Center of Zhejiang University attracted experts and scholars to probe into innovative approaches to communication in the smart media era.


Ying Biao, a standing member of the CPC Committee and the head of the Publicity Department of Zhejiang University gave a welcome speech in which he highlighted AI’s impact on the development and reformation of the entire media industry and emphasized that it has altered user experience and behavior.

 

During the presentation on the report, Professor Wei Lu who is the dean of the College of Media and International Culture and the director of the Convergent Media Research Center delivered an in-depth elaboration of the report.

 

Academic Forum on Communication Innovation

 

The report was a joint effort by the Publicity Department of the CPC Committee of Zhejiang University, the College of Media and International Culture, the College of Computer Science and Technology, and the Convergent Media Research Center. By analyzing a designated online questionnaire distributed to the nation, the report described the status quo of smart media usage and provided insight into users’ experiences, perceptions, and behaviors regarding smart media.
