On March 1, at the Green Zhejiang 25th Anniversary Charity Celebration held at Zhejiang University’s Qiushi Grand Hall, the ecological documentary film The Green Path, directed by Jin Xingzheng, a researcher under the university’s Hundred Talents Program, officially commenced production.
Focusing on the achievements of the Two Mountains philosophy (lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets), the film will present a grand artistic vision of China’s ecological civilization construction over the past two decades. It is scheduled for nationwide theatrical release in August 2025.
At the launch ceremony, director Jin Xingzheng, Zhejiang University Guanghua Law School environmental law professor Dou Xiaodong, and the film’s protagonist Nie Kaiwen delivered speeches. Huang Shumeng, Vice Chairman of Zhejiang University’s Development Committee, along with Wu Qiangjun, former Deputy Director of the Provincial Government’s Legislative Affairs Office; Wang Yimiao, Vice President of the Provincial Science Popularization Federation; and Xu Youcheng, President of the Qiantang River Tidal Bore Research Association, jointly unveiled the camera—symbolizing the start of artistic creation—by removing its red ceremonial cloth.
Over the next two months, the production team will document this profound cross-regional dialogue, uncovering the moving stories hidden within Zhejiang’s landscapes. Together, let us anticipate how this film will weave together real-world examples of green initiatives across Zhejiang, showcasing the beauty of harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
