On March 22, the second session of the Party School training organized by our college was successfully conducted in the college's broadcasting hall. The training session focused on thoroughly studying and implementing the Party's innovative theories, combining the characteristics of our college's Party members with a communication studies perspective. Centering on two key themes—improving news and public opinion work and telling China's stories well—the training aimed to further enhance Party members' political consciousness and encourage them to integrate strong communication skills into their future professional practice. Zhao Yu, Associate Dean of the college, and Zhang Liping, a member of the Party Committee, delivered special lectures.
Zhao Yu took news and public opinion work as the starting point, systematically elaborating on General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourses and practical explorations in this field during his tenure in Zhejiang. He conducted an in-depth analysis of the experiences, theoretical value, and lessons learned, comprehensively summarized past achievements, and outlined prospects for future development. Zhao emphasized that news and public opinion work is both crucial and complex, urging participants to draw insights from Xi's practices in Zhejiang to guide future efforts in this domain.
Zhang Liping centered her lecture on the theme of telling China's stories well, posing three core questions to students: What is the essence of Chinese culture? What does it mean to tell China's stories well? And how can we achieve this? Through vivid cross-cultural case studies, she demonstrated that the foundation of telling China's stories well lies in deeply understanding, practicing, and embodying China's excellent traditional culture—while forgetting that one is consciously narrating these stories. Concluding her lecture, she encouraged students with the adage, If you can be renewed for one day, you can be renewed every day, and then renewed again, urging them to contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with an innovative spirit.
The successful hosting of this training session has injected new momentum into the Party-building efforts of the college, further strengthening students' awareness of their mission and responsibilities. It has also harnessed the energy of youth to advance the realization of the Chinese Dream of national rejuvenation.
