The 2025 Academic Forum of the CPC History and Documentation Research Base was recently held at Zhejiang University under the theme Thoroughly Studying and Implementing Xi Jinping's Thought on Culture. The forum was co-organized by the Research Planning Department and International Cooperation Bureau of the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute, together with the CPC History and Theory International Communication Research Base and our university.

Zhejiang University Vice President Zhou Jianghong attended and addressed the opening ceremony. Wang Junwei, Director of the Academic and Editorial Committee of the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute, delivered a keynote report titled Firmly Maintaining the Party's Cultural Leadership. In his speech, Vice President Zhou Jianghong emphasized that studying Xi Jinping's Thought on Culture represents an important initiative to deepen research on the patterns of international communication regarding Party history and theory. He stated that in the new era and journey ahead, Zhejiang University will thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important directives on the university's reform and development, contribute to building China's discourse and narrative systems, and strive for greater achievements in the process of building a world-class university with Chinese characteristics at a high level.

Director Wang Junwei pointed out in his keynote report that the core of Xi Jinping's Thought on Culture is upholding the Party's cultural leadership. This significant original theoretical viewpoint was proposed by General Secretary Xi Jinping through profound summarization of the Party's historical experience and insightful observation of the development trends of our times, reflecting a scientific grasp of the laws governing ideological work. To uphold the Party's cultural leadership in the new era and journey ahead, the key lies in consolidating the guiding position of Marxism and using Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era to forge souls and gather hearts; the foundation is to scientifically understand the Party's history, study it well, comprehend it well, and uphold it well; the crucial point is to strengthen the construction of propaganda, ideology and cultural positions, ensuring territorial responsibility, accountability and fulfillment of duties.

Eighteen experts from the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute and its various research bases, as well as the Zhejiang Provincial Party History and Documentation Research Office, delivered speeches and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the systematic and theoretical interpretation of Xi Jinping's Thought on Culture, its theoretical origins, connotative characteristics, and international communication. The forum was attended by over 60 experts and scholars from relevant departments of the Central Party History and Documentation Research Institute, the Zhejiang Provincial Party History and Documentation Research Office, and universities including Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wuhan University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Communication University of China, Tianjin Foreign Studies University, Shandong University of Finance and Economics, and Guangxi Normal University.
