On the afternoon of 19 March, a delegation led by Yu Yunquan, Deputy Director-General of the China International Publishing Group, visited Zhejiang University to conduct research and provide guidance. Zhou Jianghong, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice-Chancellor; Wang Xinhua, Director of the Department of External Exchange at the Provincial Publicity Department; Wang Lijian, Deputy Director of the University Party Committee’s Publicity Department; Ying Tianyu, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange; Wu Fei, Qiushi Distinguished Professor and Director of the Centre for International Communication Studies; and other relevant officials and faculty representatives attended the symposium. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Yu, Party Secretary and Deputy Dean of the School of Communication and International Culture.

This research initiative focused on the integrated development of ‘culture and technology’ and cutting-edge applications in international communication. During the symposium, Zhao Yupe, Deputy Dean of the School of Media and International Culture, presented an overview of the school’s work in international communication and AIGC. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the use of digital and intelligent technologies to enhance international communication, strategies for the global expansion of Chinese culture, and the cultivation of talent in the field of international communication.

Moving forward, the School will continue to capitalise on the University’s multidisciplinary strengths to vigorously advance the development of international communication capabilities, thereby contributing Zhejiang University’s expertise to the establishment of an international communication discourse system with Chinese characteristics.
