To further guide media students to “take to the big stage, enter the front lines, and pursue great endeavours”, help students gain a first-hand understanding of industry trends and corporate recruitment needs, facilitate precise talent matching between the school and enterprises, and deepen collaborative education, the School of Media and International Culture organised a “Seeking Truth and Exploring Careers” corporate visit and job-seeking initiative for staff and students during the winter break.

Douyin Group’s East China Headquarters, which opened in the second half of 2025, is a major construction project under Zhejiang Province’s “Thousand Projects, Trillion Yuan” initiative. It serves not only as a new urban landmark but will also significantly drive the deep integration of digital talent and technology with Zhejiang’s traditional industries. The delegation toured the relevant exhibition halls, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company’s development history, technological expertise and culture of innovation. They experienced first-hand Douyin’s product portfolio, including Douyin E-commerce, Hongguo Short Dramas, Feishu and Shidian Ancient Texts, and witnessed Douyin’s corporate ethos of “perpetual entrepreneurship” and the practical outcomes of technology empowering society. The delegation also held in-depth discussions with experts from Douyin’s various business divisions on topics such as career planning, skills development and practical internships.

Chuanbo Brain Technology (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd. (formerly Zhejiang Daily Media Convergence Technology Co., Ltd.) is a state-controlled technology enterprise established under the guidance of the Publicity Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and jointly initiated by Zhejiang Daily and other entities. It is positioned as Zhejiang’s unified media technology support platform and external interface, aiming to establish a media technology integration centre, a data exchange middleware platform, and a hub for converged communication. During the visit, company representatives provided on-site explanations of the core large-scale model’s functions and conducted practical demonstrations. Staff and students had the opportunity to experience digital and intelligent projects first-hand, such as printing daily newspapers and interacting with AI avatars. During a discussion with the company’s human resources department, the delegation expressed their hope that this visit would enhance media students’ understanding of cutting-edge developments in the digital communication industry. They also looked forward to exploring further collaboration with Communication Brain in areas such as industry-academia-research cooperation, work placements and practical training, and the exchange of talent between the university and the company.

Huamei Holdings is the third enterprise within the China Press Group to achieve a comprehensive listing of its media operating assets; its controlling shareholder is the Hangzhou Daily Group. Leveraging the Group’s authoritative mainstream media matrix, the company has deeply integrated itself into urban development strategies whilst continuing to cultivate its cultural media business. As part of its transformation and development, it is committed to building a comprehensive service platform that integrates authoritative content provision, city-wide marketing and the creation of a cultural ecosystem. The delegation of teachers and students held a face-to-face discussion with relevant officials from Huamei Holdings, including the HR manager. The on-site exchange was open, lively and relaxed, with students actively posing questions. Both sides engaged in discussions on industrial synergy, scenario expansion, cutting-edge technology and industrial digitalisation.
